The article focuses on the 1937 study "The Man Who was Shakespeare" by Eva Turner Clark. It examines Clark's arguments on the Oxfordian theory that Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford, is the true author of poet William Shakespeare's plays. Clark reportedly believes that Shakespeare was too young to write some of the plays attributed to him including the 1589 "Hamlet" as it is too mature for a 25-year-old author. A reprint of Clark's introduction to her study is also presented. |
