Abstrakt: Indian tourism is in a position to position itself as a best destination compared to its neighboring counterparts by bringing up new avenues and innovations in tourism. Incidentally, the negative happenings of the recent past have emerged as a setback for Indian tourism and it could acknowledge the drop in female tourist arrivals to India and to convey the world tourists as a safer and incredible destination, it has to experiment by innovating newer tourism products or to find innovative approaches in the existing tourism products to act as new offerings. This paper is an attempt to learn how Uttarakhand state of Indian sub-continent have rechristened its tourism in the form of ecotourism to have its competitive share in receiving tourists. Data for the study is collected from primary and secondary sources through structured questionnaire. The results of the study educate to concentrate on the hardware and software components of tourism for better results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
