Abstrakt: The article studies the intellectual trajectory of French Baptist pastor Philémon Vincent with emphasis given to the influence of the École de Paris (school of Paris) on his religious thought and the context in which it was shaped from 1879 to 1914. The thesis "La doctrine et la vie chez Philémon Vincent" (1950) by Jules Thobois is mentioned. Topics include Vincent's education and theological studies at the Faculté de théologie protestante de Paris in Paris, France, from 1879 to 1884, the École de Paris or fideism, or faith being independent from reason, and the topic of resurrection in the article entitled "Jésus-Christ" (1880) by French Protestant theologian Louis-Auguste Sabatier that was published in "Encyclopédie des Sciences Religieuses."
