This article discusses the social status and conditions of the provincial nobility in Ciudad Rodrigo in Spain during the mid-18th century. The author comments on the domestic lives of the nobility in this city, including a description of the architecture of their homes. She also examines the relationship between the homes and the environment in which they were built. The military history and importance of Ciudad Rodrigo and its reflection in the domestic architecture of the nobility there is also explored. |
