It has become increasingly important that students not only gain content knowledge, but also be exposed to strategies that foster development of problem solving, critical thinking, communication skills, and active learning. The focus of this study was to actively engage students with the concepts (knowledge, skills, and dispositions) related to the topic being learned during the contact time between the lecturer and the students through the use of concept maps. The purpose of this article is thus to explore the integration of concept mapping as a teaching strategy within a lecture. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
