Abstrakt: The article discusses a study on the population status and habitat utilization of the hispid hare Caprolagus hispidus. It states that the species can be found only in a few grassland areas of northern India and southern Nepal, and estimated to be few hundreds only in number. Other topics covered include the habitat ecology and extent of movement of the hispid hare in Bardia National Park, its distribution in the same habitat, and an assessment of the species' conservation threats and measures.
