The article discusses the spread of infestation by stem borer Oberea artocarpi Gardner that decreased the harvest in May 2013 of mulberry leaves from plantations in Kerala. Topics covered include description of the pest's pattern of feeding, start of stem damage and identification of infected branches. Also mentioned is the control of infestation through removal and burning of affected leaves. |
