Abstrakt:	The article explores the state of public funding for documentary films in Germany, where about 350 million Euros were spent by major German film funds to support documentary films. Topics discussed include the history and state of German public broadcasting, the income of director/producer and producer/producer in the country and the structure of film funding that is based on the federal system. Also mentioned are the three relevant film funds in Germany.
