The article focuses on changes related to the diagnosis of gender dysphoria made by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) in the fifth edition of its manual on mental health disorders called the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders," or DSM-5, from the fourth edition, the DSM-IV-TR. Topics include a change in the name of the disorder, the exclusion of gender dysphoria from the category of sexual disorders, and the inclusion of diagnostic criteria specific to children. |
