The article elaborates on the maintenance of high school athletics fields in the U.S. on a limited budget. Topics discussed include preventive maintenance as usually more economical than recovery maintenance, and developing a maintenance plan. Also mentioned are cultural practices such as grass mowing, soil cultivation and avoiding fertilizer waste, as well as restricting the use of athletic fields, and considering outside relationships with community businesses and other sports facilities. |
