The article examines how the new president in Indonesia will face challenges such as border protection, maritime security, and the separatist movements in Aceh and Papua. It states that the country's presidential election in July 2014 will be marked by a high turnout and a generally peaceful security environment. It adds that a generally passive foreign policy implies that the country is unlikely to play a major role in the strategic shifts shaping the region. |
