Abstrakt: The article discusses the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit's ruling in the 2013 case Cariou v. Prince which deals with appropriation art by artist Richard Prince, the legal rights of photographers such as Patrick Cariou, and transformativeness in relation to America's fair use copyright law doctrine. The U.S. Copyright Act of 1976, injunctions, and other legal proceedings are mentioned. Copyright infringement remedies in America and the legal aspects of parody songs are examined.
