Abstrakt: The article focuses on the French-born Duchess of Savoy Christine de France and French politics during the reign of Jules Mazarin, a 17th century Italian-born Bishop and Prime Minister to Queen consort of France and Navarre and regent Anne of Austria. Topics of discussion include Mazarin's expertise in Italian and European affairs, relations between the House of Savoy and France, and Christine de France's relations with the House of Savoy and the French monarchy. Mazarin's preparation of the meeting for a potential marriage between Louis XIV, King of France, and his cousin Marguerite de Savoie in Lyon, France, in November 1658 is also mentioned.
