The article discusses research conducted during the 20th century concerning the link between the presence of fluoride in water and the dental condition known as Colorado Brown Stain. It discusses the work of Colorado Springs, Colorado dentist Frederick McKay, the chemical makeup of the water in Bauxite, Arkansas, and the research of scientist H. Trendley Dean concerning the drinking water in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The article states that Grand Rapids became the first city in the world to adjust the fluoride content of its water supply. |
