Abstrakt: The article discusses how homesteaders can exercise the right to protect and profit from their inventions. It notes that most machinery and equipment used in the modern world were invented in homesteads and were protected under Article I, Section 8. Clause 8. of the U.S. Constitution. It clarifies how an inventor is granted a patent through the "first-to-invent" provision of The Patent Act of 1952 and the "first-to-file" provision of the America Invents Act of 2011.
