Abstrakt: Abstract: Alternative material is being developed to manufacture rotating bands, in order to solve tribological problems associated with OFHC copper bands. Tests were performed on polyamide composites to determine mechanical properties, friction, wear and deformation at various speeds, and fire and flame resistance. Experimental results indicate that PA66 reinforced with 2% GF, 1% MoS2 as self-lubricating additive, and 0.7% Mica platelets as flame retardant appears to be the ideal compromise composite material to ensure a combination of strength, wear and heat resistance, as well as structural integrity during use.
