The article presents a study which evaluates the impact of pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPV) in older people in Australia. The incidence of invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) from 2002 to 2011 is highlighted. The effects of 13-valent PPV (13vPPV) for infants on the reduction of IPD incidence among older people are outlined. |
