Abstrakt:	The author discusses initiatives embraced by Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to improve the quality of life for aging citizens. Topics addressed include an increase in the city's population partly due to the entry of retirees, its participation in the World Health Organization's (WHO) Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities, and the reinvigoration of the Mayor's Commission on Aging. Also mentioned are measures to improve accessibility and affordability for all ages.
