Abstrakt: The article discusses the technological augmentation of the human body in the work of Perfume, a Japanese techno-pop idol trio consisting of Ayano Omoto, Yuka Kashino, and Ayaka Nishiwaki. Perfume is famous in Japan for their performance of traditional female idol roles, through which they assume the positions of daughter, sister, platonic friend, and romantic partner. Their videos, music, and stage performances contain images of machines, virtual cities and landscapes.
