The article presents a study that developed a rapid and inexpensive method of extensive genotyping of D-loop haplotypes in Red-crowned Cranes in Hokkaido, Japan based on the amplification refractory mutation system (ARMS) polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay. Particular focus is given to the nucleotide sequencing of the mitochondrial D-loop, ARMS PCR assay for D-loop typing, and crane sex identification process. It discusses the conventional sequencing of the D-loop. |
