The article offers information on the potential software-defined networking (SDN). It notes that deployment of SDN creates a software layer that has the capacity to absorb many of the complexities of managing a network. As of December 15, 2013, SDN is being explored by science-oriented networks in the U.S. government and academia such as Energy Sciences Network (ESnet) and National Science Foundation. |
