| Abstrakt: | A reprint of the essay "Eight Jews in Search of a Grandfather," by Mykola Ryabchuk, which originally appeared in a 1998 issue of "Yehupets'," is presented. In the essay, the author recollects his experience helping a group of Jewish tourists find information on and locate the grave of their grandfather, Ukrainian-Jewish entrepreneur Shmuel Glasberg, in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. Topics addressed include Ukrainian antisemitism, Ukrainian nationalism, and the oligarchic Ukrainian government. |
