Abstrakt:	The article focuses on the role of federal statutes, regulations of Department of Defence (DOD) and military practices in providing the protection to the rights of the military officers to have the continued employment. It reveals and discusses the tensions between the property right in continued employment and the force reductions. It further concludes that the service members may have the constitutionally protected property rights and interest in continued employment.
