Abstrakt:	The article presented proposes the New York State juvenile justice system to conform to the rehabilitation reforms promoted in the U.S. Supreme Court case Miller V. Alabama. It favors the use of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods and juvenile mental health courts to adjudicate youthful offenders suffering from mental health conditions. The overview of the American juvenile justice system is given. The reasons for promoting ADR for adjudication of youthful offenders are also given.
