The article discusses health and safety issues related to oral piercing and body art among adolescents as well as adults. It provides information on the complications from oral piercings, including the accumulation of bacteria around the site, mild pain and difficulty in eating, and offers ways on how to care for these sites including regular dental examinations. It also stresses the importance of the role of health care professionals in providing patient education to reduce complications. |
