Abstrakt: The article focuses on Cardinal Henry Edward Manning of England and his passion for cricket. Manning spent two or three years with the cricket team Harrow Eleven and became its captain in his last year. According to the author, the cardinal used cricket as a metaphor of life and considered the game as a way to reconcile with his Anglican friends after being separated from them due to his conversion to Catholicism. Biographical accounts highlighting Manning's passion for cricket are mentioned.
