Abstrakt: Introduction: Idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss is defined as hearing loss that is greater than 30dB in three contiguous frequencies and occurs in less than three days with no apparent cause. Irrespective of the management protocol outcome is still poor and most patients end up with hearing rehabilitation in the form of hearing aids. Method: Clinical note. Result: We reported a 7-year old patient who presented with 1-year history of sudden bilateral hearing loss with no known cause which subsequently resolved two and a half years later. Conclusion: It is our recommendation that patients with ISSNHL should be counseled appropriately that recovery is a possibility and that hearing aids might not be used for life.
