The article reports on the vocal demands, including voice lessons, theater rehearsals an university ensemble, that are placed on voice students and discusses the challenges that voice students face when attempting to pace their voice demands. An overview of vocal dosimetry, which uses a portable device called a vocal dosimeter to measure students phonation time, fundamental frequency and vocal intensity, is presented. |
