The article discusses the importance of federal grant for the renovation of University of Washington's (UW) Burke-Gilman trail. The trail's 1.7-mile corridor in the University District is the focus area that needs improvement. The UW has requested for a Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The UW's plan to increase growth through renovation before the Link Light Rail begins its scheduled campus service is noted. |
