Abstrakt:	The article offers the author's insights on the relationship of faculty-student mentoring. The author recalls his academic career under the mentorship of Professor Emeritus Gilbert Geis on criminal law and juvenile justice administration. He mentions that as a faculty himself, he has tried to apply the lessons he learned from Geis by asking his students regarding their research interest and found out that most of his students seldom have been asked by the said question.
