The article discusses the early career of British secret service agent Conrad O'Brien-ffrench, commenting on his service with the Royal North West Mounted Police (RNWMP), or the Mounties, in Saskatchewan from 1910 to 1912. It considers his service in the Saskatchewan settlements of Maple Creek, which contained a brothel, and Montgomery's Landing. The author also notes that O'Brien-ffrench is considered a possible source of inspiration for the character James Bond in the spy novels of British author Ian Fleming. |
