Abstrakt: This paper presents a design method for an octave graphical equalizer that optimally matches a desired magnitude response and minimizes the interband interferences. The gain and the bandwidth of the band filters are jointly optimized. The time-varying filters are approximated by interpolating two time-invariant filters tuned at the same central frequency resulting in a filter that is inherently stable. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
