The article discusses the court case Snyder v. Phelps in which Albert Sndyer, father of a deceased Marine, who was subjected to having his son's funeral picketed and also to a vicious online attack. The Westboro Baptist Church has repeatedly gained media attention by picketing at funerals including nearly 600 military burials. It also informs that a court was unable to consider the legality of these statutes because Maryland did not have such a law in place when the Westboro Baptists picketed at the funeral. |
