The article discusses a study that evaluated and compared the transfer of passive immunity and the proteinogram in Criollo Lageano (CL) and Black and White Holstein (BWH) calves in the first six months of life. The study found a pattern of physiological behavior followed by variations of serum proteins over the first six months of life. The production of immunoglobulins was noted to be active earlier in BWH calves and slower in the CL, without any effect on their health. The study concluded that in CL calves, there was no failure in the transfer of passive immunity, while the failure occurred in the BWH calves. |
