Abstrakt: The article discusses the regulatory factors responsible for the persistence of nonpoint nutrient pollution in U.S. waters and describes the U.S. Endangered Species Act of 1973 (ESA) which protects the imperiled species from extinction. It highlights the uses of ESA in improving the regulatory control of the nonpoint nutrient pollution affecting aquatic ecosystems and environments.
