The article discusses a study that compared six protocols for extracting DNA from Eimeria oocysts in poultry. It describes the role of the intracellular parasitic protozoa Eimeria spp. in cocciodiosis. The protocols included the Institute for Animal Health (IAH) method, cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) method, and the Wizard genomic DNA purification system. The minimum mean purity of genomic DNA obtained by the Medox-Easy Ultrapure Genomic DNA spin kit is also cited. |
