Abstrakt: The article focuses on high altitude travel for people with cardiovascular disease (CVD). The severity of a patient's underlying cardiovascular disease will be the basis of his/her tolerance to altitude. The length of time of the trip, the ascent profile, and the effort that the patient plans to undergo are cited as the factors a physician must consider in order to provide appropriate advice. Patients with CVD may reportedly aggravate their condition when experiencing high altitude illnesses.
