| Abstrakt: | The article discusses evidence for risk associated with computer tomographic (CT) scans in New Zealand. It also discusses ways to reduce CT scan risks, such as reducing the radiation dose, avoiding clinically unnecessary repeat scans, and substituting scans with ultrasound and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. A comparison of figures on CT scans performed in the U.S. and New Zealand in 2007 is highlighted. |
