The article narrates how, in 1993, Bill and Joyce Reinke of Bells, Tennessee registered their greenish-white daylily that had 8 petals instead of the usual 6 as 'Give Me Eight" when the only other registered polymerous daylily at the time was the 'Chris Fatman Wilson.' It describes how this started the Reinkes on hybridizing polymerous forms including 'Sallie Brown' and 'Fuchsia Four' after many hybridizers and collectors felt that there was something special about the polymerous form. |
