The article discusses the importance of forbs on the restoration of inland grasslands in California. Forbs refer to all herbaceous taxa which are not included in the Poaceae plant family. Inland grasslands, also called valley grasslands or valley/south coastal grasslands, are dominated by non-native annual grasses and forbs. Increasing the diversity and cover of native forbs could advance restoration goals. |
