The article focuses on the conservation of melanocortin 3 receptor (MC3R) gene in yaks as well as the derivation of phylogeny from the other mammals. It notes that high yak conservation demonstrates the potential of MC3R as a housekeeping gene and a functional gene. It explains that the gene can be subjected to strong purifying selection and constraints during mammal evolution. It also shows the abundance of phylogenetic clade variations among mammals. |
