Abstrakt: The article highlights the model adopted by the Diocese of Grand Rapids for the survival of small schools in Michigan. David Faber was tasked to merge three small, rural Catholic schools by 2011 after he took the role of the superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Grand Rapids. Catholic School Management's Richard Burke was tapped as consultant for the merger. Faber was successful in his merger strategy as it resulted in 100% retention with the capacity to attract new students.
