The article describes the use of phenytoin after successful quinidine conversion of atrial fibrillation in two horses with the aim of maintaining sinus rhythm. The first horse was an 8-year-old warm blood mare who was used for show jumping and dressage and was referred for treatment of atrial fibrillation. The second horse was a 3-year-old standard bred gelding which received an unsuccessful attempt at quinidine conversion from atrial fibrillation by the referring veterinarian. |
