Abstrakt: The article discusses the blind spot of philanthropy for democracy in the U.S. and how to address it. It suggests that one percent of investment in reform should be allotted for democracy. It highlights the suggestions by economist Joseph Stiglitz on how to shrink the wealth divide in the U.S., which include tax reform, restructuring corporate governance, and improved market competition.
