Abstrakt: | The article discusses the trend among young designers to forego the traditional designer-producer relationship in favor of directly selling their products to consumers via the Internet. Several design practices employing this designer-to-consumer model (D2C) are discussed: the Washington, D.C.-based Field, the New York City-based Rich Brilliant Willing, the London, England-based Very Good & Proper, and the Chicago, Illinois-based Object Design League Company. |
