Abstrakt: The article focuses on the clinical work, research and major publications of Spanish doctor and medicine historian Antonio Orozco Acuaviva, with an emphasis on his work at the Centro Antipoliomielítico San Acacio in Cádiz, Spain. The author discusses Acuaviva's influence, research and work relating to rehabilitation, physical therapy and treatments for polio, especially between 1960 and 1980. The author places special emphasis on Acuaviva's history of education and his accomplishments at the Centro Antipoliomielítico, as well as his publications on rehabilitation relating to polio and his doctoral thesis.
