Abstrakt: The article discusses archaeological test excavations carried out at the North Fork Rockshelter site along the Owyhee River in southeaster Oregon. After describing the site's environmental context and previous fieldwork carried out at the site, the author examines its material culture and prehistoric and historic artifact assemblages. He describes the different types of projectile points found at the site along with stone blades, pottery and potsherds, and lithic debitage. He goes on to discuss the site's faunal remains and XRF analysis of the artifacts, and concludes that the assemblage points towards an occupation of the site between the Early and Late Archaic periods.
