The article discusses the recovery of scrap lead from piano parts that have been discarded. It is said that several pianos contain lead weights and that the recovery of the latter prior to the disposal of piano parts stands as an environmentally friendly and economically profitable move. Piano parts that tend to contain lead include keysticks, grand piano damper underlevers and fallboard counterweights. It adds that wearing gloves and a dust mask can be worn when handling lead. |
