The article reports on the Unified Protocol that was developed by the International Water Association (IWA) Task Group on Good Modelling Practice (GMP) to deal with the use of activated sludge models in engineering practice. The five steps of the protocol include project definition, plant model set-up and calibration and validation. The modelling project at the Beenyup wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Perth, Western Australia is cited as example. |
