Abstrakt: | The article focuses on the way in which the bird Raven is represented in many Native American cultures. The author cites many tribes who credit the Raven with a plethora of acts, including the Tlingit, the Tsimshian and the Kwakwaka'wakw, all of whom believe Raven brought the moon to the Earth. The article discusses how Raven is represented in art and petroglyphs found in Alaska and Canada and that the story of the Raven is believed to be over 1,000 years old. |
